Abstract

A MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) is being offered this spring term by Wayne Whiteman on the topic of Statics. The class was offered through Coursera. Nearly 17,000 students enrolled in the course from around the world, and 4,000 of those students participated in submitting graded requirements. In this seminar, Wayne will share his experience with this course and lessons learned.

Biography

Wayne Whiteman is the Director of Student Services and Senior Academic Professional in the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering. Wayne has been at Georgia Tech for ten years. Previously he served as an assistant, associate, and full professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York.
