Abstract This week the NRE/MP seminar is extended to a full day event to include final presentations of the NRE 4232/NRE6401 Senior/Advanced Nuclear and Radiological Engineering Design. Seven teams will present their designs according to the following schedule: MARC Bldg. ATRIUM 08:45-09:15 Posters (1-2 people from each team available next to the poster to answer questions) MARC Bldg. AUDITORIUM 09:15-09:30 Welcome and Introduction 09:30-10:15 NE-1 – A 1000 MWt LSCR design with optimized enrichment to minimize fuel cycle cost 10:20-11:05 RE-1 – Shielding optimization of the neutron generator facility 11:10-11:55 6401 – Spent nuclear fuel pool storage for LSCR type of fuel 12:00-1:00 Lunch Break ---------------- 1:35-2:20 NE-2 – LSCR design optimized for WG plutonium disposition 2:25-3:10 NE-3 – Spent nuclear fuel pool storage for LSCR type of fuel 3:10-3:30 Closing remarks and adjourn All graduate and undergraduate NRE/MP students are encouraged to attend. |
