Abstract

The seminar will focus on space fission systems: past, present, and future. Several previous programs, such as NERVA, SNAP, and JIMO, have laid the foundation for the current future nuclear space programs. A summary of current space reactor development programs will be given. A Previous Additionally the seminar will give an overview of BWXT Advanced Technology and AT’s current reactor development programs.


Biography

Dr. Matt Krecicki is a Nuclear Engineer for BWX Technologies Advanced Technologies where he has worked on the company’s most important reactor development programs. Matt earned PhD at Georgia Tech and is an alumnus of the CoRE lab, where his research focused on developing full core multiphysics methods for NTP reactors. Matt also sits on the American Nuclear Society reactor physics executive committee and is a World Nuclear Summer Institute fellow.
