Abstract Ultra Safe Nuclear has been working to vertically integrate and own its reactor and fuel manufacturing operations. A nuclear fuel supply chain for advanced reactors does not currently exist in the United States. The TRISO fuel particles and Ultra Safe Nuclears proprietary Fully Ceramic Microencapsulated, FCM, fuel form require a robust and sizeable supply chain. Vertically integrating and establishing this supply chain requires full demonstration and exercise of the advanced fuel manufacturing technologies at the necessary scale. In parallel, a comprehensive capability for testing and qualification of the nuclear fuel is expected to support reactor licensing. This talk provides and overview of these activities at Ultra Safe Nuclear in support of its Micro Modular Reactor MMRTM deployment. |
