Abstract

In the landscape of smart manufacturing and process control, the convergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) has ushered in a transformative era for manufacturing operations. This talk offers a comprehensive analysis of real-world applications, challenges, and implications of AI and ML technologies within the domain of Fab data analytics. Our research includes the multifaceted applications of AI and ML algorithms, focusing on their roles in critical areas such as metrology and inspection, yield prediction, and feed-forward control. We delve into how these advanced analytics methodologies facilitate precise metrology and inspection, resulting in improved product quality and defect reduction. Moreover, we show how AI and ML empower manufacturers to accurately predict yields, optimizing resource allocation and waste reduction. Additionally, it explores the implementation of feed-forward control, showcasing how real-time data analysis guides immediate process adjustments for enhanced operational efficiency and reliability. Our work illuminates the significance of these technological advancements in the broader context of smart manufacturing and process control, underscoring their potential to revolutionize the manufacturing landscape.


Biography

Dr. Jae Yong Park is currently serving as the VP of Technology in Samsung. With over 20 years of experience as a data scientist and process control expert, he leads the Fab-wide data analytics and AI/ML solution team to develop advanced analytic solutions for process and equipment control, leveraging his expertise in machine learning and data analytics. Prior to joining Samsung Electronics, Dr. Park held various positions, including Engagement Director and Product Manager, for companies such as PDF Solutions, Inc. and KLA in the U.S. He received a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Seoul National University.
