Abstract Dr. Emilio Baglietto, Director of Nuclear Applications at CD-ADAPCO will present an overview on simulation tools for Computational Continuum Mechanics and Computational Fluid Dynamics and the recent progresses in single and multiphase flow simulations with particular emphasis on the nuclear industry related applications. |

Biography Dr. Baglietto has a Laurea Degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Università di Pisa, Italy (Full marks) in October, 2002. In September 2004, he received his Doctor of Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan. His doctorate of philosophy thesis title was “Studies on Non-linear Turbulence Modeling in Computational Fluid Dynamics for Nuclear Engineering Applications.” He is a recipient of the 2003 Best Student Paper Award from the Technical Committee of The International Conference on Global Environment and Advanced Nuclear Power Plants, GENES4/ANP2003, Kyoto, Japan, and the 2005 Best Paper Award from the Thermal-Hydraulics Division of the American Nuclear Society. He worked as a Research Associate at the Research Laboratory for Nuclear Reactors, in Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan. Dr. Baglietto is now Director of Nuclear Applications at CD-ADAPCO in New York. |
