Abstract The technical nuclear forensics mission within the United States is an example of the fusion of science and policy. This seminar will discuss the U.S. legislation and policy that guides technical nuclear forensics in both research and the operational mission. Technical nuclear forensics is an interagency mission that includes pre detonation and post detonation assessments of both nuclear material and device design. |

Biography Dr. Christine Egnatuk is a scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Dr. Egnatuk is currently serving as a Senior Science Advisor to the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Office of Nuclear Forensics. Dr. Egnatuk received her Ph.D. from the Nuclear and Radiation Engineering Program within the Mechanical Engineering Department at The University of Texas at Austin. After completing her Ph.D., Dr. Egnatuk started at LLNL as a post-doctoral researcher and converted to a staff scientist within the Nuclear and Chemical Science Division. |
