Abstract Nuclear power generates about 20% of the electricity in the United States and about 10% worldwide. Nuclear power demand is predicted to grow substantially based on significant increases in electricity demand coupled with more focus on renewable energy. Come listen to my discussion about my twenty years in nuclear power, insights on the current industry, and thoughts around what the future may have in store for the industry. |

Biography Mr. Kern grew up in metro-Atlanta and earned BSNRE and MSME degrees from Georgia Tech. He have been in the nuclear power industry for about 20 years. He worked for 15 years at Southern Nuclear in varying roles between their corporate office, Farley and Hatch nuclear plants. He currently works for the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), and in his present role, he helps seven domestic nuclear stations. Mr. Kern is married to his wife, Breanna, and have two children, Evelyn Curie and William, along with their dog, Plutonium. |
