Abstract In order to safely and effectively treat cancer patients with radiation therapy, we need a team. A radiation oncology team is comprised of many different types of individuals, including radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and nurses. In this presentation, Dr. Kesarwala will discuss the clinical workflow of modern radiation oncology practice, with a particular focus on the role of medical physics and interactions between radiation oncologists and medical physicists. A brief discussion of some current research topics in medical physics will also be included. |
