SUMMARY

The goal of this dissertation is to investigate the suitability of Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers (PCHE) for high-temperature high-pressure transient service. This investigation is informed by both experimental thermohydraulic tests using helium and supercritical CO2 and structural analyses. Thermohydraulic experiments were performed on two different lab-scale PCHEs using a new test facility constructed specifically for this project. Structural analyses were performed on the complex PCHE geometries and using temperature and pressure boundary conditions observed in the thermohydraulic experiments.
