SUMMARY

Finding parking is one of the common hassles of modern life. The expansion of parking infrastructure is costly and it may be more feasible to implement efficient parking practices. A bio-inspired parking system was designed to reduce the time drivers take to find parking using vehicle to vehicle communication. It looks at how honeybees communicate with each other to optimize the amount of nectar collected for the colony and applies this method to vehicles searching for parking. The results shows that the proposed algorithms usually more efficient than existing parking algorithms with the exception of a very small group of unusual circumstances.
